I'm new to the list. I'm trying to help my father find out about his real
mother (he was adopted at birth). The Adoption dept. at GRO have given us
her name - Elizabeth Ellen OWEN. He was born in Wallasey on Nov 28 1926,
and was orphaned by his adopted parents, then brought up by his adopted
grandmother. All we know about Elizabeth is that she may have worked in a
bank in Wallasey, and was probably known to his adopted parents before his
birth. Can anyone help with any info about OWENs in Wallasey around that
date, or which banks existed there then?
