As I responded to the first lister, I should have known that
irony never comes across in e-mails. Guess you all missed
the :-)

Living on the East Coast of the US (Maryland) I am up to my
ears in Cheshire Blackshaws, it is only the Mid-west and
West that are from my side of the family.

I may be clutching at straws looking for my 1718 Edward in
Cheshire but surely there is a link. I was rather thinking that
Prestbury - Macclesfield would be likely areas.
