This group's reputation for helpfulness is not exaggerated. My mail-box bulged ! If I don't manage to get back to everyone - please take it that I am very grateful to you all.

The most popular suggestions were:

a] Subscribe in L mode - it's easy to just delete the messages.

b] Download Eudora lite & use that

Several people bemoaned the demise of Netscape. Me too, it was spare, easy to use & not as susceptible to viruses.
