Hi John,
I do have the same problem, yes I have posted on other lists if I have the
slightest feeling they had connections and over the last 2 years I have made
countless connections with distant cousins but no one closely related. My
quest began because mum said she had no relatives left, 10 years ago, and
I'm beginning to think she may be right!
Maybe that's why we think we are the only ones, if we are searching without
knowing anything about our forebears in the first place, then we probably
are the only ones....
Having said that, I've been spending Sunday morning phoning complete
strangers up in order to find some more distantly related cousins, risking
the strange looks and comments from my children about the 'posh telephone
voice' but it's worked and I can add a few more tiny twigs to the tree.
So get on the phone John!
