Hello List,
It was this note from Ian HARTAS that prompted my note on what it cost us
for these IRCs that we are asked for when sending for copys from the
Cheshire BMD site. ( When that register office dosen't except credit
cards. ) As with the Wirral Register Office Birkenhead.
"On-line ordering is not possible, however, many of the register offices
take credit
cards. If the application form has a section on the bottom to allow you to
fill
in your card details, then you're in luck. Simply fill in your details and
send it
off. The BMD web site's software knows which registrars take credit cards
and
automatically adjusts the application form accordingly.
If this credit card details section does not appear on the form, then it
means
that your application has to be sent to one of the offices that cannot
handle
credit cards and you will have to arrange for other means of payment."
My thoughts here, why can they not just say " add more for postage and
handling " to the money order. and not go the root of these IRCs ? When we
can't use our credit cards.
Antony that quote was for TWO. IRCs. $ 7.00
Mike I appreciate your reply in trying to help. I do send to Southport, That
is were you need the GRO #. which is not always easy for me to get. living
quite a ways from Edmonton. And when they are not on the freebmd rootsweb.
And the Cheshire BMD have the copys that I require on there site.
So there for I send to Wirral M.B.C. Birkenhead. and need theres IRCs.
Like yesterday I sent for two copys in the same envelope. It cost me $ 14.00
for the four IRCs to go with my two money orders. It send my four off to
them before as well. And that ment I payed $ 14.00 to have my copys returned
to me. There has got to be a better way. Rather than using these IRCs. ?
I hope I have explained now what it is I am trying to say.
Cheers.
