What I forgot to say last night was:
1) There are microfilm copies of the relevant documentsfrom the PRO (and
other places) in Australia at the National Library in Canberra, and at the
Mitchell Library in Sydney. They were filmed by the Australian Joint
Copying Project.
2) Anyone who is interested in petitions for clemency should try and look at
an article in The Local Historian, August 2001, pages 130-153, 'Early
nineteenth century criminal petitions: an introduction for local historians'
by Paul Carter.
