Sarah - Why not have a day trip to Macc and visit the Silk Mill Museum - Its three building in total, has a tea shop and has many books etc for sale.
Last but not least you can talk to the folks there and they could also point you to the library .
Very cheap parking in the area as well .
I enjoyed my day there
