if it helps I have seen school trips reported in local papers, in my case in
Roxburghshire. There were few details but the school was named. the same
thing goes on today of course.

So I suggest you try the local paper route and then if you find the name of
the school, contact the local record office and the school itself to see if
a school log has survived.

You could also contact the House of Commons library. try google to get the
website for the Houses of Parliament and you should be OK from there.
