Subject: [CHS] Cheshire/Yorkshire/Lancashire/Staffordshire BMD search page updates.
Date: Sat, 03 May 2003 20:03:28 +0100
Dear all,
the search pages for the above web sites have been enhanced this evening.
On each of births, marriages and deaths, the layout of the search form has been
enhanced and the results page will now decode the region code into the actual
name of the region instead of showing the two letter code. (Cheshire BMD has
had this enhancement on a trial basis for the last week or two)
However, the major update is an option to allow you to enter the name of the spouse
when searching for a marriage. If you can provide the spouse, then the number
of returned matches will be greatly refined.
If you select any of the Soundex options, it will apply them to both the main surname
and the spouse's surname.
(My apologies to anyone on the Staffs site who may have seen errors when I was
updating this site as I didn't get it right first time ! :-(( )

regards,
Ian Hartas
