Hello,

I've just subscribed in the hopes of making some connections that might
help me find information on my ancestor, Thomas Mann. He was supposedly
born in Mascclesfield in 1754, emigrated to America in early 1770's.
He married and produced a large family, from which I am descended; I
live in Georgia, in the US, and have recently begun researching family
history. I am especially interested in verifying Thomas Mann's origins
and would appreciate any advice anyone might offer. I'll be in England
June 18-July 16 and hope to make a visit to Chester to see whether I
might find any records of Thomas Mann and his family.

I'm interested in any information, even remotely related, to the history
and families of Cheshire and especially of the Macclesfield area.
