My lot toddled off down to Manchester Cathedral from Mottram to marry in
1837, so that's a thought.
Otherwise the only logical thoughts would be St Mary's Stockport or St
Michael's Ashton.
I'm not sure if the church at Hyde was available for weddings at the time
frame you suggest. Where was he from ? That might be a suggestion
