Yesterdays is a weekly selection of stories that appeared in the Ashton
Reporter 100 years ago. This week includes the Micrograph in Ashton; a child
knocked down by a tramcar, but saved by the "automatic" protection; a fire
at a chip potato shop; a man's body found in the canal; charges against a
miner found with matches in his pockets; and the death of the man who
designed the rockery at Stamford Park.

Also, the completion of the post office on King Street, Dukinfield, which I
remember well. And why it was shared with a bank (TSB and/or Nat West in my
time?), plus a description of the interior I recall.
