I have recently been following a lead from the free BMD site regarding a marriage in Birkenhead of:

Philadelphia Mercy CHAMNEY marriage in Dec 1888 to William SHORE.
ref: Birkenhead 8a

Does anyone have any information on this family?

I believe Philadelphia to be widow of Thomas CHAMNEY who d in 1884.

Philadelphia Mercy had two small children, Flora (1875) and Albert (1880). If it is Philadelphia Mercy , her maiden name is MARCHANT and she is from Buxted, Sussex. In the 1881, she is listed as Mary b Buckstead, Sussex which is good enough for me. b 1849.

In 1881 they are living as family of Thomas Chamney at 122 Price Street, Birkenhead, Chehire County.

I would be very grateful if someone has easy access to 1891 to locate any of these people. I do think the children were raised with surname of CHAMNEY, so I need

Philadelphia Mercy Shore born 1849 Sussex
Flora Chamney born 1875 Cheshire
Albert Chamney born 1880 Cheshire
William SHORE b ?? abt 1845 unknown where.
