Hi Liz,

I checked all the Bates entries for all of Macclesfield but no sign of a 1
year old Charles Bates. I wanted to do a second check but I'm having
problems with either the Adobe programme, or more likely, my CD drive. I
did find 2 Charles Bates. 2159/362 has a 17 year old Charles and 2159/495
has a 14 year old who was living with parents William and Sarah, and
siblings Sarah, 10, and Elizabeth, 1. There are a number of entries for the
name of Bate which I haven't checked.

Sorry, not much help but I will try to sort my problems out and if you are
still needing the look up I will try again.

Regards,

John
