Subject: 1861 Census PICKFORD lookup if possible
Date: Tue, 4 May 2004 18:04:15 +1000
Greetings once again fellow listers,
I am not sure if there is a Surname Index for the Cheshire 1861 census, but I would very much
like a lookup for the following people if at all possible....
Place: Macclesfield
MARY PICKFORD probably a widow, but if not, husbands name is JAMES PICKFORD
Age unknown, but estimated to be about 50, and she is rumoured to have been born in Wales.
Living with her, I hope to find her grand-daughter - RACHEL PICKFORD, age 11 yrs, born Salford (or Manchester)
Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea which part of Macclesfield they might be living in, but two of Mary's children were baptised at the Brunswick Wesleyan Chapel in Sutton......that was way back in 1837 though.
If anyone can help me by finding these two people I would be forever in their debt.
I have the Staffordshire 1861 census and would be happy to do lookups in return.
All the best, Diana
Honest criticism is hard to take,
particularly from a relative, a friend,
an acquaintance or even a stranger!
