The 1841 census has not been indexed. It is very faded and difficult and
sometime impossible to read in parts. Obtaining a film from the Mormons may
help but you would need addresses. Plowing through the whole thing is very
time consuming and with so much illegible a bit disheartening, I know, I`ve
done it !
The 1851 census has been indexed and I have a copy of the index which just
lists surnames with folio numbers. It is in two parts;- Piece
No.2171 21 Phillips entries.
310 Jones entries.
Piece No.2172 16 Phillips entries.
6 Philips entries.
1 Phillipps entry.
455 Jones entries.
The index does not include given names or initials or addresses.
It might be worth your while to buy a copy of the Index, its not very dear.
It is ;-
1851 Census of Cheshire
Surname & Location Indexes.
Volume 10: Chester District.
PRO Pieces H.O.107?2171 and 2172.
