I make the assuption that a "dresser" was also a cotton mill occuption.
I have ancestors whose occupations were listed as cotton spinner and
cotton weaver, so I assume there was a connection.
Would someone tell me what a dresser does/did.
Also, my ancestors lived on Compstall Road, Ludworth, Derbyshire in
1841. I have again assumed they probably worked at the George C.
Andrews Cotton Mill at Compstall Bridge. Were there any other cottom
mills in that area they could have worked at?
