Hello John,
It may be that it was Mary LAWTON the mother-in-law who married twice.
My grandfather Lawton married Mary PYE but she had died by 1891, however
boarding with him was his mother-in -law
a widow Mary WATERWORTH. She had married William Waterworth in 1877 and been
widowed for a second time.
