Hi All,

I am being driven demented by Daniel Dunbabin 1859, a brother of one of my
ancestors who went into hiding after 1871. I know he married and had a
family from the following letter:

According to John T Dunbabin:
Daniel started off with a small holding at Helsby and doing some carting for
various folk. He was unlucky and got (hard to read: decadent Rhinda Pest) in
his stock, so that put paid to his farming as there was no government help
in those days. Eventually he got a job in the cable works in Helsby, and was
there until he retired. He had 7 sons and 1 daughter, Elizabeth, who married
Frank Watson. The sons were John, Arthur, William, Percy and Fred. Two more
died young - one was called Herbert. I remember him dying, I think he was 12
or 13. The other was earlier. John had no family. Arthur had one son and one
daughter, I see the son about once a year. William had two daughters, Percy
had one daughter, Fred had no family, so it looks like the family name dying
out in this area. Arthur's son has not married.

I have found a marriage:

and two of his sons: Percy and Herbert, who did indeed die at age 13.

But I can find no trace of Daniel in 1881, or his family in 1891 or 1901 (I

isn't really important to my tree as everybody else is fully documented, but
I keep trying and failing..... sigh.
