Hello Bernadette - and welcome to the Cheshire List!!
I may have mentioned this to you in our discussions in Warwickshire...but at
my grandparent's marriage at St Peter's, Delamere the witnesses were: John
Holland, G. Bell (possibly a cousin or uncle or bride); Ethel Oakes (sister
of the bride), Annie Davenport. Also, in my few bits and pieces I have copy
of a memorial card for a John Holland d 1913 aged 67 interred Bickenhill
My grandfather was amongst the exodus of Cheshire farmers to Warwickshire,
and he farmed in several villages over the years, including Bickenhill. It
is a hunch that John Holland the witness and John Holland buried at
Bickenhill are one and same, or father and son (a good many farmers who came
to Warwickshire came with several generations of their family taking farms).
