John, when I write for a certificate, I always include a request in my
letter to send me a photocopy if at all possible. Some register offices do
not have the equipment, and so they send the hand- or typewritten certs.
Having said that, I have always believed that even the hand- and typewritten
ones had ALL the information from the original, so if the certificate you
received does not have the street address, it probably was not on the
original either.
