Derbyshire Record Society
"MAULE (MALLE, MOLLLE) = hammer, mallet or club"
Regarding ". . . the inventory of 1611 lists "Item one Mouler", the Glossary
does not list "mouler,"
Nor does Samuel Johnson's Dictionary (1843) treat this word.
Hope this helps and does not increase confusion since it is well and good to
eschew obfuscation when possible.
