So having googled a bit and tried to read the act (too many ifs and

Basically Ray you are entitled to your own records and when you die
anyone can look at them.

But the registers themselves will probably be 'closed' so you cant
read them in case you discover that the old lady next door once had
nits or failed a maths test. Hence the search fee.

I don't know much about the Blue Coat school but if it is not state
run then it could be their records aren't covered by the act at all.
