Thank you Donald for your suggestion.

I was just curious to see if the Inn was still in my BROADY families name
during the 1841 census.

The time period I am interested in is around 1788 give or take 20 years. But
I didn't think the trade directories were listing in the 1700.s. Perhaps a
list member might know of such a directory, or how to find the name of a
person who had an established business in that time period.

Thomas and Elizabeth Broady of Betchton were recorded as the grandparents
of a Robert BROADY son of Charles BROADY in a baptismal record in Witton in
1812. Based on this I am thinking perhaps they were still alive for this
Baptism.

Perhaps someone has a very old map of the Betchton area and the churches and
Inn names are listed against the buildings shown in the map?

Many thanks again

Kind regards

Mike Morris

I do not want to be a wet blanket, but my experience is that in small
communities inn names are often not shown in the address column, even when
the occupation of the head is innkeper. You might be better advised asking
for look-ups in Trade Directories. <snip>
