It may not be exactly the same, but my father wrote his will that I should
not inherit until I was 65! At the time of his death, and indeed of the
writing of the will, I was in my 40's. As it turned out, I got nothing, nor
did my children who were not to get anything until they were in their 40's
or so. He was heavily invested in the stock market, bought stocks on the
margin. There was a downturn about the time of his passing, and he was
BROKE! My mother was very upset that she was penniless, as you can imagine!
The money for me and my children was instead left to her when she broke the
will.
May not be the same as your case, but still similar.
