I am trying to interpret a birthplace shown in the 1861 and 1871 census returns that looks like either Wilbeck or Wilcook in Cheshire. The person concerned lived in Manchester and no other family member was born in Cheshire.
I have checked the "Old Maps" site and a modern road atlas but can't find any similar place. Can anyone suggest a possible location in Cheshire that fits the bill, please?
