My reply seems to have disappeared so here is another try, sorry if it
duplicates later.

Hi Ian, my gt gt. grandmothers brother, Frederick Baker Kimber, moved
from Gloucestershire to New Brunswick then to Fall River, Mass., where the
family worked in the cotton mills. They made a very good living there, his
son became the youngest overseer at the age of 23yrs. at Wampanaog Mills.
If you google Fall River there are some very good websites on its history.
Many moved there from the Tameside area because the pay was better and their
skills in the mills were needed in the new mills. The emigration there only
stopped when WW1 started.
