Hi Carl,
I was a bit bothered that none of my "Manx Coach Route" information matched
up with yours.
However, I can now quote your Newspaper Cuttings :--
<<Liverpool Mercury for September 18, 1829.
<< Coach accident at Smallwood Bridge near Lawton Gate.
This is on the Church Lawton to Holmes Chapel Road which passes the "Legs
of Man".
Not only that - but one of the passengers to Liverpool was called
Trueman.(my Grandmother's surname)
By another coincidence - I used to live on this road by the Church Lawton
traffic lights at Butt Lane.
Small World.?
<<Liverpool Mercury for May 21, 1830
<<Coach accident at Lawton near a small bridge.
Probably the same spot 8 months later ?
I feel better now,
Ricky Cooper.
