Hello Cheshire Listers and Andorinha Stones nee Platt,
I saw the "[CHS] Chrisrchurch Barnton" posting of 16 Feb 2010, listing some
Lightfoot Barnton Burials.
I am always on the lookout for the LIGHTFOOT name in Cheshire and then I saw
that your maiden name was PLATT and I recalled that the name was linked to
some of my ancestors. None of my LIGHTFOOT ancestors appear on your list -
they were at Stapleford and Coddington.
One of the witnesses at the Administration of the Estate of my 3rd
great-grandfather, Richard LIGHTFOOT (Abt.1783-01 Jan 1845) was Henry PLATT,
of the City of Chester, Druggist. Below is a synopsis of the
Administration:
"Richard LIGHTFOOT late of Stapleford Mill, Parish of Tarvin, in the County
and Diocese of Chester, Corn Miller, deceased Intestate.," is the listing
for Richard in the Administration Bond of his widow Hannah (MOORE) LIGHTFOOT
who was appointed administratrix of his estate. Richard died 01 Jan 1845
and the date of the administration bond is 29 Jan 1845. Hannah LIGHTFOOT
swears on 01 Feb 1845 that Richard's estate is valued at less than £1,500.
Witnesses to all the proceedings are Henry PLATT, of the City of Chester,
Druggist, and Thomas MOORE of Edgerley in the County of Chester, Farmer
[brother of Hannah (MOORE) LIGHTFOOT].

One of the witnesses at the Marriage of my 3rd great-grandmother, (daughter
of Richard LIGHTFOOT) Anne LIGHTFOOT, (Bef. 18 Feb 1821-Aft.04 Apr 1881) was
Henry J. PLATT. Below is a synopsis of the marriage record:
"John WRIGHT, Bachelor, Flour Dealer, of Rain Hill, Prescot (Merseyside),
Father: James WRIGHT, farmer;
Ann LIGHTFOOT, spinster, of Tarvin (Cheshire), Father: Richard LIGHTFOOT,
miller; Married 14 Dec 1844 in the Parish Church according to the Rites and
Ceremonies of the Church of England by Licence, Tarvin St Andrew, Cheshire,
England;
Witnesses: Henry J. PLATT & Thos. MOORE; /s/ John WRIGHT & Anne LIGHTFOOT"

The only Henry PLATT I have been able to find in marriage records is:
"Henry PLATT m. Hannah AUSTIN" in a Nantwich Civil Marriage - (CC) N7
117 - 1871-1875
There appears to be a further relationship between the PLATT and LIGHTFOOT
families as shown in the following:
"George PLATT m. Sarah LIGHTFOOT in a Nantwich Civil Marriage" - (CC) N4
6 - 1861-1865
(m. 14 Aug 1864, Congregational Church, Monks Lane, Nantwich;
Note: George was a boot finisher & Sarah (sister of Elizabeth) was a boot
binder - per Hazel Newbold.
Note: I do not know the relationship of Sarah to my ancestors.
"John PLATT m. Elizabeth LIGHTFOOT at Nantwich St Mary" - (CC) 539/3 302 -
1866-1870
[m. Dec 1870, Nantwich; John was a shoemaker & Elizabeth (sister of Sarah)
was a nurse maid - per Hazel Newbold]
Note: I do not know the relationship of Elizabeth to my ancestors.
Another possible PLATT family link is:
"Emma PLATT m. 1844 Jonathan WRIGHT at Prestbury, St. Peter" - PSP/4/55
Note: I do not know the relationship of Jonathan to my ancestors.
If you can shed any light on any of these people I would be pleased to hear
of it.
Sincerely,
John Denning
