Sheila,
I volunteered at my local LDS Family History library for several years. I am
not a Mormon or member of the church but volunteered just for the love of
genealogy. And believe me they did not "make any money"!! The library
ordered film etc from Salt Lake and was responsible for paying postage both
ways, maintaining film readers, printers, computers, plus many other
expenses. All free to anyone who wished to use their facilities
and resources with only a modest fee for film rental. Sounds to me like a
real bargain and those of us who have been able to take advantage of what
they have made available should be extremely grateful. I know I am.
