My 3xg.granddfather, JOHN JUDSON, born 1795, married HANNAH SUTTON, and had
children , HENRY, born 1819. MARY ANN, born, 1821 and JOHN, born 1828; all
born Nantwich. In the 1841 census, the children Henry and John are living in
Nantwich with another family, but their parents and sister do not appear.
The burials of John senior, Hannah and Mary Anne are not in the Nantwich
parish register or in the GRO records as far as I can find.

I think that it is possible that the three died in one of the frequent
epidemics in Nantwich. There was a cholera epidemic in 1832, which would
account for the absence of a GRO record. There was a typhoid epidemic in
1840 after the start of the GRO records, although we know that there were
many omissions in the early years. The burial of other victims of the
epidemics were recorded in the parish register; is it known if there were
omissions from the parish register at the time?

I would be grateful for any comments.
