Subject: [CHS] Confused PICKSTOCK and LITTLER in Witton, 1804 - 1819
Adrian,
I have the 1808 baptism transcribed in my files and I have taken it down as
Thomas so Richard LITLER of Northwich, flatman (of Richard & Marg't Littler
of Northwich) and Betty (dtr of Richard & Nancy Pickstock of Witton) Born 13
JUN 1808. Bap 26 JUN 1808.
The 1804 I have the same as you have quoted, although I would perhaps
question whether "Thomas" the recorded father should possibly have been
Richard? or maybe in the 1808 baptism "Richard" should have been Thomas I
would suggest the Littler = Pickstock marriage may have been in Liverpool,
many of the flatmen chose to marry at St Nicholas or St Peter's, both near
the waterfront.
Elaine.
Now an 1808 baptism:
Name Thomas son of
Father Richard Littler
Abode Northwich
Trade Flatman
Father's parent's Richard & Mary Littler
Their abode Northwich
Mother Betty
Mother's parents Richard & Nancy Pickstock
Their abode Witton
Born June [13th]
Baptised June 26 <1808>
