Subject: [CHS] Electoral roll problem
Date: Wed, 9 Nov 2011 17:24:58 -0000
Hi All,
According to my grandfather's birth certificate he was born in 1889 in
Wilmslow at the same address as he was living, with his parents, in 1891.
However, on the electoral register his father's place of abode was in Sale
from 1887 - 1890 when it moves to the expected address in Wilmslow in 1891.
So, does "place of abode" not mean they were living there? I am struggling
with the meaning of electoral registers!
Any help greatly appreciated.
Christine
