I have stuck with Rootsmagic 3.2.6 for very many years now - and much to
my surprise, find that it still works with Windows 7!
I don't know about later versions, but this one has the facility to
produce a separate shareable CD which includes a read-only version of
Rootsmagic. The wizard to create such a CD also includes a technique
for removing any 'sensitive' data that you have on your version of the
family tree, but which you do not wish to share more widely. I do not
think there are any serious limits to the number of entries allowed.
I plan to do this for my family fairly soon now, as I think I'm stuck at
all the relevant brickwalls.
Hope this helps.

Having more or less completed one family research I now want to put it onto
a software programme with a view to then making copies on a DVD for family
members who are interested. Any suggestions please ?
I am trying "Kith & Kin Pro" using the free 30 day trial and am uncertain
how much it suits me. The "tree" in question goes back to about 1630 so it
mainly vertical rather than horizontal and there are not many photos to me
included.
