Hi all,
My Guynes Family are Choctaw. John Guynes -m- Amanda Guynes..... John is listed on rolls as white and Amanda is listed on rolls as Choctaw Citizen.
I am looking for Amanda's maiden name. That will be our link to our Choctaw surname.
John b. Tenn and Amanda (Manda) Guynes b. Tenn (according to 1880 census of Emma Guynes MCLung in Smith Co. Tx.
They had Martha Guynes b. 1853 in Ark (were Emma and Martha Twins or the same person) not sure about this one.
Emma Guynes DOB: 1853 in Ark
Henry Guynes DOB:9 shows born in Tex but we do question this as all other children were in Ark. Henry wasn't youngest either 18640 DOD Aug. 6, 1902
William Guynes DOB: 1864
This Henry and William's family's ended in Okla It and all were living in same area around Atoka, Coal Co.
Some Guynes had business in Clairetta, Okla
Henry and Sarah Odgen Guynes* Henderson* (after death of Henry in 1902) had 7 children. I have roll numbers for all Children. Sarah married John Henderson and I don't know what happened to her after this.
Indian land was alloted to these family's some where around the Coalgate area.
This is just a start of all we have. If anyone does remember any of there names please let me know.
