My grandmother, Mary Alice Robinson (2/1877) was raised by the Lem Gilliam
family in Chicota, Texas, or Paris, Texas. Her mother and father and other
members of her family supposedly died in a scarlet fev er epidemic and only she
and her sister survived. I can find no record of their deaths and she did not
know her mother's and father's names, except "Robinson". She was supposed to
be 1/4 Cherokee, but I'm wondering if it was supposed to be Choctaw instead.
