The only way that you get to be "known" Chickasaw or "known" Black (and I assume that you mean "known Freedman") is for you to be "known" to be on the Dawes Commission Final Rolls.

Hi, I'm trying to find out if my husbands grandfather is listed on the Choctaw Roll. His name is Archie Dozier. I don't know much about him but that he was born in Canton MS and married Angie Moore daughter of Jim Moore and Cordelia Redmond. Cordelia is known to be full Chickasaw. Jim is possible chickasaw and known black Any info will help. Thank you Diane Wilson
