My husband's gg-grandfather, John Shack, was said to have come to
America in about 1832 with the Sylers Circus. I've found information on a
Passenger List that someone with that name departed from Greenock, Scotland
on the Brig Hero and arrived in New York July 3, 1832.
Has anyone ever heard of this circus? If you have any information, we
would very much appreciate whatever you can tell us. Thanks,
