Hello Joan,

Happy Holidays and the Best of New Years to you and all who read this!!!

My search and/or interest is for any info available regarding the life of my
Grandfather Willie Wiedrich--aka "The Great Wilno"-human cannonball.
Arriving to the United States 1929 he first started with the
Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus 1930. Continued to perform with several different
circus, fairs and carnivals over a 20 year period.
Setteled in Peru, Indiana where following retirement he continued to train
children for many different acts for a yearly famous Circus event. This he
did for more than 20 years but failing health forced him to stop.
I will never forget my first visit to Indiana as a child when Grandpa Wilno
introduced his daughter (my Mom) and grandchildren via center ring---
Wow!!!!.
Now I search for photos, memorabilia and stories. I have found several
different conflicts in accounts in the who did what and when areas to date
but since both my Grandfather and Mother are no longer with us I can not be
sure what is fact or fable without tangible items of proof (hope I am
making sense here)? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Sorry I do tend to get wordy at times...but if this where a phone call I
would probably be chatty too. LOL

Sincerely, Jackie Jaskula
California
