Obituary: Saturday October 5, 1895, "The Germantown Guide"

DEATH OF DR. LUKENS

Dr. B. F. Lukens, aged 59 years, died at his late residence on Greene street, early Wednesday morning after a six weeks' illness from cancer of the neck. In 1862 he enlisted in the 79th Ohio Regiment and subsequently was with General Sherman in his march to the sea. Deceased was a member of the Homeopathic Medical Society of Germantown, the American Institute of the Homeopathic Society, the Homeopathic State Medical Society of Ohio, the War Veterans Association of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Historical Society, and was a member of Ellis Post, No 6, G. A. R. A wife and three children survive.
