Greetings,

Have been looking at CW sites on the Internet but don't seem to see anything
about the 67th Indiana Infantry.

Ancestor James L. Hill was attached to that service and was last heard of
as being taken prisoner and put in Camp Hope in Taylor, Texas. He was not
heard from since, so presumably died there.

Were any kinds of records kept of Camp Hope? I did read about conditions
there and one man's struggle to escape - but no information about the 67th
Indiana Infantry in particular, or the number of prisoners taken from that
unit.

Questions include: was the whole regiment taken prisoner? What were the
circumstances? What battle was involved? Where did it take place?

If anyone has any information at all about the 67th, or information about
Camp Hope, or any other Texas prison camps, we would be greatly interested.

Miss Dee
