The most likely size would be .58 caliber. this is the common "minie
ball" or elogated bullet that is .58 inch in diameter. This would have
been fired from a rifle-musket or a rifled musket. Other common size
musket and rifle calibers were .54 amd .69. Pistol balls could be as
small as .32. the other possibilty was a small piece of shot or
fragment.
