Hi Joan, and good luck with John DUNCAN. The info I have has been collected by a
great-aunt over many years in the old-fashioned way - get in the car and drive to
Scotland. Here's what I have but I've not validated any of it myself. I thought
I'd start with the place - Monquhitter or Monquitter, according to the LDS website.

So - Helen DUNCAN born 1863 at Pottesbury in Buckinghamshire. Married C.S. Carter

Her father, John DUNCAN born 20 Mar 1823 at Monqu(h)itter

His father, John DUNCAN born 26 Feb 1797 same place

His father John DUNCAN born 18 Sept 1771

His father, John DUNCAN born 30 Sept 1735

His father, John DUNCAN born 28 July 1708

His father, John DUNCAN born 7 May 1682, all Monquitter.

As I say, none of this has been verified and it is a common name. So, do with it
what you will, and if you think we have a connection, please let me know.
