Subject: Was David Holmes of Dedham/Milton originally David Hume of the 'John& Sara'?
Date: Thu, 11 May 2006 18:53:06 -0400
Greetings, this is my first post to this list.
I have found very plausible yet not totally conclusive evidence that David
Home (spelled Hume per the John & Sara manifest) a Scottish prisoner of the
Battle of Worcester in 1652 became known as David Holmes subsequent to his
indenture.
David Holmes died in 1666 leaving a widow Jane.
I have my line from David as follows: John (Hannah) > John (Mary) > Lemuel
(Abigail Bicknell) > Timothy (Mary 'Polly' Bundy) > Caroline (Thomas Knapp).
Can any readers cite conclusive sources proving David Home/Hume and David
Holmes are one in fact and the same?
Thank you in advance.
Vince Knapp
