In a message dated 09/15/1998, Phyllis Wallschleger inquired about William
Louis Smith, son of William Victor Smith.

Sorry I cannot help directly, but I am looking for the Springfield, Ohio,
parents of an attorney named Victor Y. Smith and wondered if this is the same
family.

Victor Y____ Smith was born at Springfield, Ohio, on May 6, 1867 (Information
from the Semi-Centennial Souvenir of Wittenberg College, 1895). He married
Charlotte V. Carr on January 12, 1897 in Clark County, Ohio (Probate Court
marriage records of Clark Co.)

Smith died November 24, 1927 at Dayton, OH, and was buried in Ferncliff
Cemetery at Springfield, OH. He lived in Springfield and Dayton, OH.

Victor Smith attended the Preparatory department of Wittenberg College,
Springfield, Ohio, for the academic years 1882-3 and 1883-4. He began college
classes in 1884-5 and spent the usual four years there graduating in the
class of 1888. Apparently he read law or went on to law school. Where????

I need yet his parents and children, any other marriages, military service,
religious affiliation, and any other pertinent information such as where he
went to law school or any other education or occupations.
