I am replying both for myself with our
Freehold Township, Monmouth Co., NJ Claytons
wityh the twins Elijah and Elisha,
the one from whom I descend on my father's side.
They had at least the other brothers Noah and Job.

Because of this Job, I had received a query
from someone researching his Job Clayton,
whose Census information showed him
to have been born in NJ,
but he doesn't yet know where.
This Job was born in 1787, lived until 1860,
married a Mary c.1830 , probably in Penfield, (County?) NY,
where his first child Phineas was born in 1831.
By 1840 he was in Oakland Co., MI
and by 1850 in Livingston Co. MI.

I have sent him everything I could find
on the Job Claytons in Monmouth Co.,
which we never managed to connect to his,
but his Job might have been from elsewhere in NJ
that I don't have information on.
If anyone can help on this, I will send
any information on to him
and get him in touch with you.

Also, anyone working on Monmouth Co. NJ Claytons
and having any good ideas on the twins' parents,
I will certainly be interested in hearing any suggestions.
I recently noticed something that might help:
Raymond Bell has in his book _A Study of the Claytons
of Monmouth County, New Jersey_, (Published 1988) on p27
that the eldest son of Elisha Clayton
by his first wife, Elizabeth King,
was named Thomas Middleton Clayton.
If anyone knows of a NJ Clayton-Middleton connection
(earlier than the Samuel Middleton who was a witness
to Ann Clayton's 1838 will in Burlingotn Co.),
please let me know, though the Middleton connection
might have been to her Kings instead of to his Claytons.

Thanks again for any help to either of us.
