Surname:
-------------------------

My line of Claytons came out of the Old Rappahannock Co., VA during the
last half of the 17th Century. Also included along with my line of William
Clayton, was the line of Thomas Clayton, and, possibly Samuel Clayton,
tho the latter has not been fully proven at this time. Thomas Clayton wrote
a Will in 1718 that pretty well ties him to the William Clayton line, but,
this line kind of disappears in the shadows during the last half of the
18th Century. I have never been able to trace any of my line to Chesterfield
Co., VA. I would be particularily interested in one John Clayton that comes
out of this line, if anyone has any information on him. Did he later drift
south to along the southern border of Virginia, say, Isle of Wight co in
Virginia??
