Hello to all
I am new to this list and am hoping somebody can help me.
I have recently dicovered that my grandmother was either married to or lived with a JOHN CLAYTON. My grandmother ELIZABETH SUGGITT was divorced from my grandfather at sometime between 1919 and 1921.
Elizabeth had a daughter MADGE in 1919, although she took the name of SUGGITT, she was not my grandfathers child.
We know nothing of what happened to ELIZABETH and MADGE except an announcement of marriage in a newspaper dated 1940 West Hartlepool, County Durham UK.
The statement was that MADGE the only daughter of ELIZABETH and JOHN CLAYTON married a WALTER BROWN.
One of my fathers sisters is said to have gone to Canada, as his other sister was still in the UK in 1945, I believe it may have been Madge.
I would be gratefull for anything at all. My kind regards Ann in Wiltshire UK.
