Subject: [CLEMENS] CLEMENT/CLEMENTS/CLEMENS DNA testing

I am confident that I descend from Robert CLEMENTS 1595-1658 and his wife
Lydia of early Haverhill MA.

I submitted a sample DNA to Family Tree DNA for a twenty-five marker reading.

It turns out I have no close relation to any of the seventy-nine others in the
CLEMENT, CLEMENTS, CLEMMONS, CLEMONS, CLEMENS lines who have
submitted their DNA.

As it should be, since none of the others claim descent from Robert CLEMENTS
of Haverhill.

To access the project go to:

http://www.familytreedna.com/

Enter CLEMENTS in the search box and click on "search."

On the next page, click on:

"Clements/Clemmons 80 The Clements Surname DNA Project"

On the next page, click on the link after "Website:"

Note they say "we will pay for the test for a proven male descendant of these
lines; another Clement line from early Haverhill MA; a proven cousin of Samuel
Clemens (Mark Twain)"

As an aside, I am confident that Samuel CLEMENS also descends from Robert
CLEMENTS of Haverhill.

The administrator of the site offered to pay for my test, but only the twelve marker
test. So I decided to foot the bill since I wanted a more definitive twenty-five
marker test.

Scroll down the page and you will see my test results. I am kit number 68529.

In summary, we need more male descendants of Robert CLEMENTS to submit
their DNA so we will have a good base to compare notes.

Any takers?
