I was clearing up some old (July 1999) e-mails from the Macoupin County,
Illinois Rootsweb list I used to belong to and came across, a detailed
reference to some Clevengers and their neighbors. Here’s an excerpt:

In addition to the CUMMINGS family migrating from Macoupin County to
Taney Co., MO. The families of Braxton MABRY/MAYBERRY, Reuben
CLEVENGER, brothers Peter LAIR & Charles LAIR Jr. went to Taney Co., MO
where they were listed in 1840 census Swan twp. (Forsyth), Taney County.
